Stretch Welded Wire Mesh Material

If you are trying to learn how to work with a welded wire mesh fence and make it stretch, you first have to know how to install it. This type of fencing can be used for many different things such as to keep your pets in the yard or to keep pets and people out of your yard. You will find that this welded mesh fence can range anywhere from three to six feet tall. You are also going to find that this type of fencing is made not to rust or burn. Step 1: Preparation Step 2: Measurements Step 3: Wire Amount Step 4: Spacing Posts Step 5: T-Posts Step 6: Straight Line Step 7: Placing Posts Step 8: Final Touches
The first thing you want to do is decide on how tall your fence will be. The posts need to be at least two feet taller than the fencing so if your fence is going to be 5 foot than your posts should be at least seven feet tall.
You are going to want the area you are working in to be a true square so measurements are important. Determine your starting point and mark it with a post and then using the measuring tape, take it to the next corner. Again mark it with a post and continue to do this at each corner. Once you have all four corners marked, be sure to measure diagonal as well, because all measurements are supposed to be the same. If necessary, move the posts so you get the correct measurements before going to the next step.
In order to know just how much welded mesh fence you are going to need, measure your fence from the one corner to the other. You will then add the sides together and that total will tell you how much wire you are going to need. You can buy the wire fence in rolls that range from 20 and up to 110 feet. If you are looking to keep your costs low, you will want to work with the larger rolls but you are going to find that the smaller ones are much easier to handle.
Each post should be approximately seven to ten feet apart.
You will need to remove your marker posts and replace them with your T-posts. This is done by using your hammer or steel post driver. Make sure they go in straight.
To keep your posts in a straight line, you will tie strings around each post at the top and this will show you if every post is even.
You will need to measure the length between the first post and the corner. Then, place the post in to the ground and continue doing that with each post. Be sure to have your post at an angle of 90 degrees. Once all are placed, remove the strings you used earlier.
Attach the end of the wire to first post using the baling wire or metal ties. Unroll the wire carefully and stretch it to the next post.
